Android, the flagship mobile operating system by Google is synonymous with 7 out of 10 Smartphones sold worldwide. There is nothing more to say about the popularity and awesomeness of Android platform. Starting as a humble system with few features in a HTC phone in 2008, it has come a long way and evolved a great deal into a fully loaded mobile operating system featuring an ocean of functionalities. Let us look at some much anticipated Android Phones which the Android fans are waiting eagerly to cast their hands on.

Sony Experia Z “Yuga”

Electronics giant Sony which pioneered the television and CD players previously hasn’t had the same luck with mobile phones. It has found it tough to hold on to the US Smartphone market and hasn’t exactly captured other non US markets as well. Still, Sony is worthy enough of designing some fantastic Smartphones with top notch features.

2013 is the year when Sony is expected to introduce its flagship Yuga model to catch the current giant phone boat. It is expected to don a 5” 1080p screen. Other speculation hints at a quad-core Qualcomm APQ8064 processor, 2GB RAM and a 13MP camera. The Yuga is expected to feature a water and dust-resistant body.

Google Nexus 4 (LG)

Google Nexus has been touted as a fantastic offering by Google (manufactured by LG). It has tried to aim two birds with a single stone. Not only is it feature packed with the latest Android Jelly Bean OS, it will be priced comparatively cheaper when other Smartphones are taken into account. Add to it some stellar specifications and you have the perfect recipe for a blockbuster phone and it is expected to sell like hot cakes.

The Google Nexus 4 will have a 1.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro PCU, a 4.7” screen, an 8MP camera and a spectacular 2100mAh battery which is a mighty one and offer long lasting performance. The look and feel of the Nexus 4 is spic and beautiful and there is no doubt, it will look stunning in your hands. While it is not as great as other phones with regards to the features like it lacks 4G capability, irremovable battery, it still will be a good buy for its price.

Samsung Note 3

The Samsung Galaxy Note range of phone-tablet hybrids have also enthused users with its performance and quality. These devices are gigantic for a phone and if whispers are to be believed, then a bigger phablet device is on the anvil called the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. There have been reports of a mighty 6.3” inch display on Note 3. To compare and have a better picture, the Samsung Note 2 has a 5.55” screen and other Samsung Smartphones like Samsung Galaxy S3 and Samsung Galaxy S4 have 4.8 and 5” respectively.

The rumors don’t stop at just the screen size. Samsung is speculated to put an Octa core processor in the Note 3 making it lightning fast in operation.

HTC M7

While Samsung has overshadowed other OEMs in the Android segment, there is a renewed vigour to clinch back some market share from it.  HTC wants to do exactly that with its M7 phone. HTC has seen its market share and sales slump over the years as it ceded its market position to Samsung. It remains just a small player and now it wants to hop into the smartphone bandwagon with a bang.

The M7 is believed to be an overhauled Droid DNA in a One X form. There will be a 4.7” display with a huge 32GB internal memory. It will be powered by a quad core Qualcomm APQ8064 ARM chip. On the software front, it will run the Jelly Bean 4.1 and will be upgradable to 4.2.
