Cornhole Apps: How Addicts Survive Bad Weather

Cornhole is the ultimate summer game that is sweeping across America’s backyards. Cornhole has added a new element of fun and excitement to outdoor grilling, summer parties, and tailgating. It is quite a simple game that anyone can play; but don’t be fooled by its simplicity – cornhole is very addictive!

What happens, though, when the snow is flying and your backyard resembles a frozen tundra? Cornhole and wind-chill don’t mix. Don’t let winter or bad weather get you down. Now you can play cornhole on your phone, iPad or computer. Not only is cornhole a popular backyard game, but it is a popular app as well. The following cornhole apps are the best games for serious cornhole enthusiasts.

Tailgate Cornhole

This is a cornhole fan’s dream come true. First, trick out your boards and bags. Then, challenge competitors from all around the world. Monitor the leader boards and see how you rank against the world’s best cornholers.

If you don’t want to play inside (stadium), take the action outside (a dirt road, your backyard, or the beach).

Technicalities:

Tailgate Cornhole app has a rating of four out of five stars. It will set you back about…a dollar. You’ll find it in the games category (obviously!) in the app store. The Tailgate Cornhole app will eat up 20.2MB on your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad.

Your own backyard might be hidden under mounds of snow or knee deep puddles, but luckily there is still one outdoor venue available for play – the virtual backyard.

Use the slider; it will help you with the accuracy of your tosses. Watch the wind and throw according to the conditions.

You don’t have to compete against someone you’ve never met. Challenge your friend to a game of cornhole – just like you would with the regular outdoor game. If none of your friends are available to play, you can always take on the computer.

Technicalities:

Cornhole is suited for Android 2.2 and later. This game won’t take up as much space as the previous app (Cornhole is only 6.6MB), but it hasn’t found as much success – only three and a half stars. However, it is well worth the risk…it is free! Download it and give it a try. You’ll find it categorized under sports games.

Corso’s Cornhole Challenge

This app has very unique features geared towards the football tailgater. It is the only cornhole app available that lets you compete against football stars Desmond Howard (Heisman Trophy winner) and Lee Corso (famed ESPN sports broadcaster).

Challenge Desmond, Lee, or any other competitor from around the globe. Don’t forget to boast about your win on Facebook – the app will do the bragging for you!

Technicalities:

Corso’s Cornhole Challenge is meant for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. It is a whopping 95.5MB. You can find this free app under the category games. The game is only rated two stars out of five, but that is probably because it appeals to a smaller demographic.

Big Brother Cornhole Game

There are a lot of great cornhole venues, but some are better than others. Playing in the backyard of the CBS show Big Brother is probably one of the best!

Play cornhole against your favorite Big Brother contestants and hear their real voices as you play. The game is only five innings; squeeze some excitement in whenever you have a few free moments. Or, save your game and continue the action later.

Technicalities:

This 70.4MG app is rated three out of five stars. Get this free app for your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad today.

Cornhole apps are multiplying fast, but these seem to be the most user-friendly and most entertaining. When you get cabin fever on a rainy day or have time during a break at work, whip out your smartphone. A cornhole app will give you all the same excitement as the outdoor version.

Greg Smith works for Custom Corntoss, an online vendor of cornhole bags and cornhole boards. Believe it or not, he doesn’t get enough of the game at work and actually pulls out his favorite cornhole apps quite often!
