New-Gen Smart Phones But Without Being Tied Down

With recent times, the technology that goes into our mobile phones has evolved so much that the customers have a wealth of choice when it comes to choosing their phones with Android, iPhones, and Nokia leading the way. What the customer does not have is choice of contract lengths, with most being 24 months. Two years is a long time in the technology industry and you could be left with an out of date and inferior phone in the space of 6 month to a year. For this reason, the best idea when it comes to buying a phone such as the iPhone is to buy the phone separately and then take out an O2 sim only deal. This will be inevitably slightly more expensive at the time of purchasing it as your payments are not spread out over 2 years, but for people that like to stay up to date. Below I have chosen 2 Phones which are in high demand at the moment and leading the mobile industry. I have purposefully left out the iPhone 4 from my choices as most people are aware of its qualities and would turn this piece into something which has been done a hundred times.

HTC Incredible

The HTC Incredible runs on the Android operating system and features the latest 2.2 Froyo version. If you are looking for a smart phone which is on a par with the well documented phones such as the iPhone 4 and Samsung Galaxy S, then you might want to consider the HTC Incredible with its 1Ghz processor which means using it is a dream, and the bright screen makes viewing it a pleasure. For this phone you are limited to an O2 or Vodafone Sim Only deal.

Sony Ericsson Xperia Play

Xperia Play

Now that the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play is out, there seems to be a lot of buzz around this phone. It is aimed at people who enjoy mobile gaming and it incorporates a unique slide-out gamepad which is very easy to use and comfortable to hold. The processing power of this phone, combined with the latest technology in mobile graphics make this phone/gaming device a sure fire winner. Be sure to check out  this phone, you will not be disappointed!

The beauty of having a sim only deal is that you are never tied down to that contract and you have the freedom to change networks and deals as you please if better ones become available.

  1. For Sony Ericsson Xperia Play this, if allowed to know the advantages or disadvantages anything? It may be reverensi, and in accordance with what we expect. thanks for the information, and information on the website very helpful as…

  2. thanks for the post! I have been frustrated myself with how fast technology changes and becomes outdated. I bought a laptop about four years ago that was really nice for the time – cost about $1300. Now, you can buy a laptop for 500 or 600 that is twice as good!

It can be really frustrating with phones though because as you said, contracts of 24 months? I don’t think paying more monthly is much of a sacrifice though, you have to expect to get what you pay for. In this case you are paying for the freedom to chose.

  3. From what I’ve heard no contract phones are the norm in Europe and Asia. Sure the phones cost a lot more upfront, but you’re not tied down to any particular network and have the option of selling off your phone any time you want.
