System Mechanic Review

The guys from System Mechanic asked me to review the new version (#14) so I installed the software. I reviewed this program a while ago; you can read my previous review here http://www.gadgets-club.com/system-mechanic-review/.

The new System Mechanic is still beginner friendly because it offers some All in one tools for defragmenting registry, optimizing the system drive, defragmenting memory, backing up registry, removing Internet cache files and the Windows temp files. These tasks are done automatically and even if you are not a tech savvy you can still clean your computer just by following the onscreen instructions.

The software is simple to use because it has an Overview from where a user can manage cleaning and optimizing tasks without knowing what the program actually does.

However the most advanced users can perform specific tasks such as Optimizing the startup by using the individual tools.

My tests

Since I already used the software in the past I went directly to the Individual tools. The first test was to stop some Start-up programs which I no longer used. After this I tested my computer for registry errors and cleaned the cache and temp files.

My computer was in pretty good shape because I used both a previous version of System Mechanic and PcKeeper. So there was not much I needed to do to clean and fix it.

The System Mechanic software also includes a LiveBoost function. This is small software which runs in the background and it is designed to make your computer run faster. It cleans RAM and prevents both lags and fragments. Also it allows the user to tune up his PC for a specific type of performance – for example to save the battery or to deliver ultra performance.

Review

The software does a good job on repairing the most common problems. I tested this by using System Mechanic for repairing and cleaning my computer. After the fix where made I uninstalled the program and installed other computer repair software. The new software found no major problems.

In conclusion: I like System Mechanic because it is simple to use, it solves the most common computer problems, it boost the computer’s performances and it allows me to chose if I want a specific task done.
