2012 was a great year for mobile phones. Tons of great devices were launched, and it was definitely the year of the powerful smart phone. We can only hope that 2013 brings as many awesome phones as last year did. Here, in order of how much we love them, are the top ten phones that are on the market right now…
The Samsung Galaxy Note II
The Galaxy Note II launched a whole new era of smart phone technology. A huge five and a half inch screen means that this is the biggest smart phone ever to be launched. And in the smart phone world right now, big is good. Plus, that quad core processor makes it fast as lightening.
The iPhone 5
Ah, every year needs a new iPhone, right? And the iPhone 5 got a bigger screen, which we love, upgrading from a three and a half inch to a four inch screen is awesome, and makes internet surfing so much better.
The Nokia Lumia 920
The Lumia 920 has to be the first Windows phone that’s really a competitor for iPhone and Android devices. The screen is big and clear, and the PureView camera takes some of the best cell phone camera pictures we’ve ever seen.
The Motorola RAZR i
The first phone to use the new Intel Medfield Atom processor, and the 2 GHz chip certainly shows its power in the RAZR. Not only that, but despite its 4.3 inch screen, the Motorola RAZR is still one of the smallest devices on the market.
The Google Asus Nexus 7
Okay, okay, it’s technically a tablet, not a smart phone. But so many people are now using this with free internet phone services, that it might as well be a phone. And we think it’s the wave of the future, just one step forward from the Samsung Galaxy Note 2.
The HTC Droid DNA
The Droid DNA (or the Butterfly, as it’s known on the UK market) has a stunning five inch display and a quad core processor. And it just goes to show that HTC really know what they’re doing on the Android market.
The Google LG Nexus 4
Not only does the Nexus score a 4.7 inch display and a quad core processor and an 8 MP camera and 16 GB of storage, but it’s also one of the cheapest devices of this standard. And it looks pretty darn cool too.
The HTC 8X
Yet another Windows phone, and this one’s a great one too. 4.3 inch screen, dual core, 1.5 GHz processor and an 8 MP camera make this a fantastic phone, no matter which operating system it’s running.
The Sony Xperia E
The Xperia series hasn’t exactly been a great success in the smart phone world, but the Xperia E may be the model to change that. Our favourite thing about it? It came with Android 4.1 already installed, which is unusual for a mid range phone.
The Samsung Galaxy S III
We only put it last on the list because everyone knew it was going to be here. The best phone we’ve ever seen. Hands down.
